Luke is getting much better at taking steps. We don’t do dog tricks with him or anything but we found that he is motivated by his latest favorite toy, the red golf club.
Can you believe he’ll be a year old next month? I sure can’t. It’s been a great year.
Thanks go out to Noel for introducing me to Improv Everywhere. These people are stinking hilarious. This video shows 70 people walking around the mall talking on their “banana phones.” Even better, the background music is courtesy of my favorite children’s artist: Raffi.
They sell BananaPhones down at The Daily Bagel (bey-gul) for $0.85. What a deal! I’m totally getting one.
Luke is having a blast walking with his dump truck:
He’s still learning to balance. We’ve lost count of how many times he’s bonked his head on the hardwood floors. He’s a tough guy, doesn’t usually cry too much.
Luke has been growing up so fast. He’s eating more and more foods, and a lot of times he just eats what we are eating, which is great. He learned to wave bye-bye a few weeks ago. Of course he won’t do it on command, so we can’t get a video of it. Trust me, it’s cute.
He still has no teeth, even though I swear he’s been teething for the last five months. He’s had the stuffy nose, the drooling, the crying at night (somewhat), but still no teeth. Not even swollen gums. We’re pretty sure he’ll be walking before he cuts his first tooth.
He is still the laid back baby he’s always been, and he smiles and laughs constantly. Believe me, we are enjoying every second of it and taking none of it for granted!
Okay, this is a much better video of Luke doing the inch worm (though a day or so has gone by so it’s looking even more like an actual crawl!). Turn on the speakers, cuz he’s talking through the whole thing
Luke is so close to crawling! He inches around like a worm. I knew this kid once who busted his knee doing The Worm on the dance floor. I don’t think Luke will be busting his knees doing his version of The Worm. It’s a pretty mild version and his knees are still just cartilage. Here he is inching along!
Here is a hilarious video of Luke eating carrots, sucking his thumb in between each bite. Who knows why he does this but I think it’s the cutest thing.
Lately when Luke gets really excited about something he shows it with this sort of breathless panting. At times he is so excited he trembles. He does this when he sees the mobile hanging in his crib, or when he sees a bottle full of yummy goodness (and I don’t mean Guinness). This USB cord in our office had him intrigued for about 68 seconds, at which time he moved on to the stuffed giraffe. He is certainly a goofy kid.
I am Mindy. This is my personal blog so naturally the subject is me. I have a husband and a son and I like to talk about them too. Mike is the husband, Luke is the son. To read more about me visit that link over there on the other side of the page. Thanks for coming and I hope you stay awhile and come back often!
